MATILDA

Matilda Wormwood is a precocious 5-year-old girl with a profound love for reading and an undiscovered gift for telekinesis. Unappreciated and emotionally neglected by her shallow parents, she finds a safe haven in library books and spinning wild stories. Upon entering Crunchem Hall Elementary, Matilda is placed under the instruction of the sweet but timid Miss Honey, who recognizes Matilda’s genius immediately. However, the school is essentially run like a prison by the brutal, child-hating headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. Through determination, clever pranks, and her newly discovered psychic powers, Matilda leads her classmates in a rebellion to take control of their own destinies and free their school from Trunchbull’s iron grip.
