Kathleen Edwards

Artistic Director

Kathleen Edwards is a theatre artist who has dedicated herself to living in the space where theatre and education merge. Her training began in her home state, Hawaii, where she honed her musical theatre skills as a teenager performing with various community theater companies. Later, she pursued classical theatre at the University of Hawaii. While still a college student, Kathleen was honored to be hired as a company member at the nationally acclaimed Honolulu Theatre for Youth. She worked in local commercials and comedy specials for TV, as well as appearing on Magnum, PI with Tom Selleck and as a semi-regular on the short lived Island Sons with Richard Chamberlain. Kathleen’s interest in giving young artists a voice through theatre soon became a passion, and, after moving to Seattle, her focus shifted to directing. Kathleen has staged, choreographed, and adapted over 100 productions, working frequently with Seattle Opera’s Young Artist Program, Village Theatre’s KIDSTAGE, and Youth Theatre Northwest, where she served as Artistic Director. She is happy to have spent over 25 years as a Hi-Liner in the beloved community of HMT.
